Dr. Christopher Ovanez was born and raised in Queens, NY. His undergraduate studies were pursued at Cornell University, graduating with a double-major in Classics / Molecular & Cell Biology. Graduate studies were pursued at Columbia University, graduating with a MPH concentrating in Environmental & Molecular Epidemiology. Further graduate work was pursued at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine / Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, graduating with a MS in Biomedical Sciences. He attended medical school at St. George’s University, member of the Keith B. Taylor Global Scholars program.
His Diagnostic Radiology residency training was completed at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center, and his Musculoskeletal Radiology fellowship training was completed at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
He loves pursuing research endeavors, especially innovative multidisciplinary research, has been involved in numerous research projects throughout his career, culminating in several publications, conference presentations, and awards.
He lives in Rockville, MD with his partner and their border collie Winnie. His hobbies include exploring museums, frequenting book stores, traveling, attending concerts, playing squash (and other racquet sports), volunteer work, learning new languages, and spending quality time with his family.
