Musculoskeletal Imaging

Musculoskeletal radiology is a subspecialty of radiology that is devoted to the study and diagnosis of diseases related to the musculoskeletal system. Our musculoskeletal specialists have thorough knowledge of the detailed anatomy of all joints. We also know how to integrate information from MRI, multidetector CT, radiography, sonography and other imaging methods to solve challenging diagnostic problems whether relating to trauma, cancer, or rheumatologic disease. Our proprietary protocols are constantly refined to yield the greatest diagnostic accuracy. When you come to Progressive Radiology for Sports Imaging, you have access to the same level of expertise normally available only to celebrity athletes.

Progressive Radiology has a long history of dedicated expertise in this subspecialty:

  • Fellowship-trained, experienced musculoskeletal radiologists who accurately interpret all musculoskeletal radiologic studies.
  • Many years of experience in carefully performing arthrograms on all joints and interpreting MR arthrograms.
  • Trusted by referring orthopedic surgeons to provide reading services for professional and collegiate athletes.

Arthrograms

Few radiology practices are as adept at the performance of MR arthrograms, in which MR images of a joint are obtained after contrast agent is injected directly into the joint space under guidance of fluoroscopy, CT or MRI. We have refined the procedure to maximize your comfort and to obtain images for demonstration of subtle abnormalities. Sometimes the procedure is accompanied (as your doctor directs) with therapeutic injection of steroids or local anesthetic.
